 Well done to all swimmers who swam at the Dorking Gala on Sunday, especially if you swam the night before in the Hastings Gala. We had some fantastic results - 15 1sts, 13 2nds, 13 3rds and many with speeding tickets (that's a good thing for anyone who doesn't know what they are!).
  We also picked up the shield for the best visiting club. Tina and I were very proud of you. It was a long day but spirits were very high and the behaviour on poolside was brilliant. Sarah

This gala was really a warm-up gala to judge swimmers' times, to give new members a chance to prove themselves and to see how the seniors have improved over the summer holiday. Although we came 4th overall I was so proud of all the swimmers. Most of you achieved PBs or were within a second of your PB which I would have expected. We had 2 disqualifications over the evening and these were for "take overs" in the relay so we need to work on these, along with starts and turns. I must mention Max Valentine and Kenna Courtman for their huge PB's. Very well done. How exciting was that last relay boys! Fantastic turn Josh!   Well done everyone. Sarah   Individual results

The first weekend of the county championships was a good one for our swimmers:  Ben Tilley won 2 golds (double county champion) in the 400 medley and the 200 backstroke, and he also collected 3rd in the 100 IM. Tom Stuart picked up the silver in the 400 medley Will Robinson collected the silver in the 200 backstroke India Marsh collected silver (just missed gold) in the 100 IM (with an 8 second PB)   We had lot of swimmers placing (coming in 3 to 8th and making the finals) and getting good PB times, including: Ben Tilley 7th in 400 free Georgina Robinson 6th in the 200 backstroke with a 5 second PB Tom Stuart 6th 200 breaststroke Natalie Mabbutt with a PB time in both heat and final of the 100 medley finishing a strong 5th Matt Campion in the 400 free 3.5 seconds PB Emily Mabbutt in the 100 medley 0.5 seconds PB Jon Wileman 200 backstroke 1.6 second PB Archie Evans 100 medley 2.5 second PB Will Robinson 1.2 second PB   Well done to all those that competed over the weekend.

 Redhill and Reigate were placed 5th out of the 8 teams competing in the Puffin Trophy Gala on 16 January. All swimmers swam their hearts out and this showed in their personal best times. We had a few children for whom this was their first gala and nerves were flying high. However they overcame this and performed to the best of their ability.

Thank you to the captains Bailey and Emily who helped look after the younger swimmers and thank you also to Natalie who worked hard at the end of the pool getting the relays running smoothly. We had some great times and all these will be recorded for future galas. Starts and turns are next on the agenda to get up to scratch!

Well done everyone, a gala enjoyed by all!
