RRSC Summer BBQ
The annual RRSC Summer BBQ and trophy presentation will be held on Sunday 7 September from 1.00pm - 6.00pm at Friends Provident Social Club, Dorking. Tickets cost £4 each, to include food. RRSC wins team trophy at Leatherhead Summer OM
RRSC won the team trophy at the Leatherhead Summer Open Meet on 29 June. Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed, ensuring that it was a team effort.
Aqua Zone competition
Well done to Natalie Mabbutt for winning the Aqua Zone competition. Check out the back of the latest (June) edition of the magazine to read her letter. She wins a prize of £20 for being the first swimmer from RRSC to get a letter published in Aqua Zone.
R&RSC Success at Surrey County Championships 2008
Redhill & Reigate Swimming Club have achieved their best ever results at the Surrey County Championships this year, gaining 3 gold medals, 6 silver and 12 bronze along with a host of top 8 placings. The club surpassed last year's points total by 37 points and finished 9th place overall in Surrey, which is a superb achievement for a club of our size. RRSC Juniors win the Charles Smith B Trophy
RRSC's first home gala of 2008 was very well attended by parents from all the participating clubs. RRSC entered two teams (Red & Black) and many of our swimmers were competing for the first time, making our win a great achievement. Louise Watkin claims European record
RRSC and Kelly College swimmer Louise Watkin smashed the European record in the S9 category on the final day of the British International Disability Swimming Championships in Sheffield. The women’s 100m Freestyle saw Watkin take a record on 27 April, the final day of the competition. Watkin swam an excellent race in a time of 1:05.15, lowering the European record and claiming the silver medal with a total of 824 points. “I was aiming for the European record going into that event,” Watkin said. “I was really close to it at the British Championships so I wanted to come here and take it."
