Galas & Fixtures

Forthcoming galas and fixtures

It is important that you keep the dates of galas for which you are selected free, as the club needs to field the strongest teams possible. Our position in various leagues depends upon the club obtaining good results.

Will Robinson
Well done to RRSC swimmer Will Robinson who competed in the National Championships in 100M Backstroke. He achieved a PB and came 13th in the semi finals with a time of 61.25, just missing the finals.  Congratulations Will from all at RRSC.

Summer BBQ - Saturday 10th July
The BBQ and trophy presentation was a great success and around 120 people attended. The weather was fantastic and the day ended with a parents v swimmers game of rounders.  Please visit the Socials webpage to see a selection of photos.

More Marathon Success
A group of RRSC parents including your Webmaster formed a relay team and ran the South Downs Marathon on Saturday 12 June.  We had a great day but, despite our best efforts, the four of us couldn't beat our team captain who ran the whole marathon! Can you recognise any former Committee members in the photo?  Answers on a postcard please...

Masters Marathon success
Well done to Masters swimmers Dave Willsher and Neil Candler who competed in the first Brighton Marathon on Sunday 18 April. Neil finished in 3:56:53 and Dave was hot on his heels at 4:00:31. Swimming is obviously good cross-training for marathon runners!

Don't forget: during school holidays the Tuesday evening sessions at Dunottar don't take place - these swimmers can join the Donyngs training session from 7.00pm - 8.30pm instead.  The 6.15pm - 7.15pm Thursday sessions at Caterham don't take place during school holidays either.

Swimsuits From 1st January 2010 all swimming competitions in England, Scotland and Wales will be applying the FINA rules in relation to swimsuits.
